Wild Canary is looking for an experienced and passionate Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at our established bistro and events venue, set within beautiful garden surrounds in Brookfield.

Trading successfully for more than 10 years, Wild Canary is an established and growing Brisbane business with a strong reputation for quality food, beautiful surroundings and memorable events.

We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their food, enjoys working with excellent produce and wants to be part of a qualified, supportive kitchen team.

The role

As a Chef de Partie, you'll take ownership of your section and play an important role in delivering a consistently high-quality food experience across our bistro and events.

You'll be responsible for

- Running your section confidently and independently during service
- Preparing and cooking high-quality food to our standards
- Working with seasonal and local produce and contributing to menu development
- Supporting the Head Chef and wider kitchen team with daily operations
- Working across bistro service, weddings and premium events
- Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, consistency and timing
- Ensuring your section is clean, organised and service-ready
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the kitchen team where appropriate

About you We're looking for an experienced CDP who is technically capable, organised and takes pride in doing things well.

You'll bring

- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie in a quality, high-volume kitchen
- The confidence to manage your own section during busy service




- Strong food preparation and cooking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency
- A calm, positive approach under pressure
- Good communication and a genuine team mentality
- High standards of cleanliness, food safety and organisation
- A passion for quality produce and well-executed food
- Flexibility to work weekends and occasional events

Pastry experience is highly desirable. An interest or background in pastry, baking or desserts would be a real advantage given the breadth of our food offering. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to be part of a team, is reliable and takes pride in what they do.
