Advanced Molecular Technologies Pty Ltd (AMT) is an Australian biotech and R&D; company seeking enthusiastic and motivated Chemists to support our up-and-coming CRO linked projects on a 6 – 12 month full-time basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working in a regulated lab setting who can contribute from day one.
The Role
We are looking for a number of organic/medicinal Chemists with varying levels of tertiary qualifications (PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons) are all acceptable) to join our team to support our up-and-coming CRO linked projects on a 6 – 12 month full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting synthetic organic chemistry/chemistry research within a range of CRO projects
- Performing purification of materials to required qualities and standards
- Carrying out analytical and quality control processes, encompassing NMR, HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FT-IR, and other in-house techniques as appropriate
- Hands-on laboratory work
Skills & Experience
- A tertiary qualification (PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons)) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a closely related discipline is essential. Relevant postdoctoral or industry experience is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience in synthetic organic and/or medicinal chemistry, including compound purification and analytical characterisation techniques is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skill and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate scientific concepts and results clearly to colleagues
- High attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work including flexibility, adaptability, responsiveness and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others
- Effective time management and organisational skills including the ability to maintain accurate laboratory records, manage multiple priorities and document experimental work to a high standard
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Reliable and punctual

- Ability to reliably commute to Melbourne’s South East suburbs
