The Chief Property Officer provides strategic leadership to the University’s estate, infrastructure, facilities and capital program to deliver sustainable, compliant and high-quality environments that support the University’s strategic goals. This large and complex footprint extends across metropolitan and regional South Australia and includes significant heritage and strategically important technical, specialist and sensitive assets.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Corporate, and leading a team of 130,



the Chief Property Officer exercises broad strategic and operational authority and is responsible for significant budget management, people leadership, asset stewardship, organisational risk management and strategic decision-making affecting the University community.

This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced property executive. Energetic candidates will possess transferrable leadership experience from within estates, facilities management, infrastructure or asset management in a large complex, organisation. A strong commercial mindset will be balanced with the ability to build effective relationships with executive leaders, government bodies, regulators and external stakeholders.

Outstanding communication skills and a strong customer service ethos are essential, as are the abilities to influence, think creatively, act innovatively and exercise effective judgment in a dynamic environment.
