About the ISS Support Worker Role:
As an ISS Support Worker,you'll work alongside educators to create inclusive learning environments where all children can participate, engage and thrive. You'll collaborate with the team to implement inclusive practices, adapt the setting, and embed strategies that support the needs of all children, including those with additional needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working collaboratively with educators to implement inclusive practices that support the participation and engagement of all children.
- Assisting educators to embed individual strategies into daily routines and experiences for children with additional needs.
- Supporting the learning environment through appropriate adjustments, visual supports, and proactive behaviour guidance strategies.
- Collaborating with families, educators, and allied health professionals to promote consistent approaches that support children's development and wellbeing.
- Observing children's engagement within the learning environment and sharing relevant observations with educators to inform planning and reflective practice.
- Contributing to a positive, welcoming and inclusive culture where every child feels safe, valued and supported.
- Ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of all children is prioritised at all times
- Actively supervising children and maintaining awareness of risks in the environment
- Reporting any concerns or incidents in line with service policies and procedures
The position we have available for ISS are as follows 1 x Part Time - Wednesday & Friday (10 hours per week)
About the Untrained Assistant Educator Role:
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and actively working towards completing the qualification to be eligible for this role.
This position is designed for individuals who are beginning their career in Early Childhood Education and Care and are gaining practical experience while completing their Certificate III studies.
As an Untrained Assistant Educator, you will work alongside qualified educators to help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where all children can participate, learn and thrive. You will support the team with daily routines, learning experiences, supervision and inclusive practices while continuing to develop your knowledge and skills through your Certificate III studies. You will work under the guidance and direction of qualified educators and contribute positively to the learning, development, safety and wellbeing of all children.
Key Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with qualified educators to support inclusive practices and ensure all children can participate and engage in the learning environment.
- Building positive and respectful relationships with children, families and team members and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported.
- Supporting children's learning and development through play, routines, transitions and everyday experiences under the guidance of qualified educators.
- Maintaining a calm, respectful and responsive approach when supporting children's behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Prioritising the safety, health and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Actively supervising children and maintaining awareness of potential hazards, risks and changes within the environment.
Being enrolled in Certificate III is an essential requirement for this position. Applicants who are not currently enrolled and actively working towards their Certificate III will not be eligible to apply. The position we have available for an untrained assistant is as follows
1 x Part Time - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (22.5 hours per week)
