Cloud FinOps Engineer

Location: Melbourne CBD / Hybrid

Clearance: Must be eligible for Baseline Security Clearance The Role

We’re looking for a Cloud FinOps Engineer to help manage and optimise cloud spend across AWS and Azure .

Working closely with engineering, operations and finance teams, you’ll improve cloud cost visibility, identify optimisation opportunities and establish FinOps practices across a large-scale cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and optimise AWS and Azure cloud spend .
- Build dashboards and reporting around cloud usage, costs and trends.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive optimisation initiatives.
- Implement FinOps practices across budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation and chargebacks.
- Establish cloud cost governance and financial accountability.
- Partner with engineering and finance teams on budgets and cloud consumption.
- Use tools including AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management and CloudHealth .
- Automate cost reporting,



alerts and optimisation using scripting and APIs.
- Provide cloud financial reporting and insights to technical and senior stakeholders.

About You
- 3+ years' experience across Cloud FinOps, cloud cost management or cloud infrastructure.
- Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure .
- Hands-on cloud cost optimisation and financial reporting experience.
- Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, CloudHealth or similar.
- Solid understanding of cloud budgeting, forecasting and cost allocation.
- Comfortable working across engineering, operations and finance teams.

Nice to Have
- FinOps certification .
- Terraform or CloudFormation experience.
- Python or Shell scripting experience.
- Experience automating cloud cost management processes.

Baseline Security Clearance eligibility is required.
