Odoo AU Pty Ltd is the Australian arm of the Odoo group. We sell and support the Odoo business software suite to Australian customers on subscription, deliver implementation services, and work through a partner and reseller channel. Our finance team is based at Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast and reports into our Asia Pacific regional office.

As the Australian business has grown we have split the finance function into two specialist accountant roles reporting to the Finance Manager, one owning compliance and one owning commercial. Transactional processing is handled separately, so neither role is a bookkeeping position.

This role owns revenue integrity, management reporting and commercial analysis for the Australian business, working closely with the Finance Manager and with sales leadership. If you like reconciliation work that actually leads somewhere, and want your analysis used in pricing and investment decisions, this is a good fit.

What you will do

- Reconcile our subscription billing platform to the general ledger and resolve variances with the business.
- Reconcile payment platform settlements, merchant fees, refunds and chargebacks to revenue and cash.
- Apply our revenue recognition policy to subscription and services revenue and maintain the deferred revenue schedules.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and rolling forecasts,



and assist with the annual budget.
- Report on recurring revenue, retention and churn, and explain the drivers.
- Analyse customer acquisition cost and payback by marketing channel, and report on return on marketing investment.
- Analyse pricing, discounting and deal structure, and support sales leadership on non standard terms.
- Prepare the Australian management reporting pack for our regional office.

What you will bring

- A completed bachelor degree in accounting, finance or a closely related discipline.
- At least 12 months of full time, or full time equivalent, skilled accounting experience gained in the last five years.
- Working knowledge of Australian accounting standards and of an integrated accounting or ERP system.
- Strong written and spoken English, and the ability to explain technical matters to non finance colleagues.
- Experience investigating and reconciling accounts and resolving differences between systems.
- Experience in budget preparation and analysis.
- Experience preparing month end reporting and analysis for management.
- Strong analytical and spreadsheet modelling skills.
- Progress towards CPA or CA is well regarded. Experience in a subscription, software or technology business, or with AASB 15, is an advantage.
