Sydney

At NOVA Entertainment, we have a culture of innovation, creativity and exceptional service. We move fast, think big and thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Our values, we call The Code shape how we work and how we show up for each other, our clients and audiences.

How does this apply?

For a Commercial Analyst, relentless curiosity means going beyond reporting to understand how media inventory is created, forecast, priced, traded and optimised. You will bring practical experience in broadcast or digital media and use data to identify opportunities across audio inventory, yield and campaign delivery.

You are here to challenge assumptions, diagnose delivery and revenue issues, and translate complex inventory data into clear commercial action. Success requires curiosity about digital audio, programmatic trading and Ad Operations, together with the confidence to learn Nova’s platforms and become a trusted partner to Sales and Operations.

This role brings Unwavering Unity to life through working independently while knowing when to collaborate and ask questions. You will be part of a friendly, team-oriented team within Nova that well and truly punches above their weight and is well respected for their understanding of the Commercial Operations.

In practice this looks like:

- Owning inventory forecasting, pricing and yield analysis across Broadcast, Streaming, Podcast and Retail Audio, with a strong focus on utilisation and revenue.
- Monitoring direct and programmatic inventory, including availability, fill rates, sell-through, CPMs, ad delivery and waterfall performance, to identify risks and opportunities.
- Building and maintaining inventory models, dashboards and scenario analysis that turn audience, demand and campaign data into transparent recommendations.
- Partnering closely with Sales, Airtime, Digital Audio Commercial and Ad Operations to support pricing, packaging,

campaign delivery and commercial negotiations.
- Improving reporting, inventory governance and trading processes while maintaining a high standard of data accuracy and integrity.

At NOVA, Radical Empathy means understanding what others need and responding with care: that shows up through the outcomes you deliver and the strengths you bring every day. This can be demonstrated by:

- Using media inventory and ad-serving data to explain what is driving availability, delivery, yield and revenue performance.
- Working across direct and programmatic campaign types, including sponsorships, audience targeting, CPM activity, bonus and barter arrangements.
- Proactively investigating discrepancies, under-delivery or unsold inventory and recommending commercially practical solutions.
- Communicating confidently with Sales and operational stakeholders, translating technical data into clear actions and decisions.

Skills that help you succeed in this role:

- Three or more years’ experience in media inventory, yield management, digital advertising operations, programmatic trading or a closely related commercial media role.
- Hands-on understanding of how digital advertising inventory is forecast, packaged, sold and delivered across direct and programmatic channels; digital audio, podcast or streaming experience is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of ad-serving and programmatic concepts such as placements, pre-roll and instream formats, CPM, fill rate, sell-through, pacing, frequency, targeting and waterfalls.
- Experience using relevant advertising,

inventory or reporting platforms; exposure to Triton, Google Ad Manager, Salesforce or comparable systems will be highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel capability, including modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis, plus experience with Power BI, Tableau or a similar visualisation tool.
- Strong commercial judgement, with demonstrated experience turning inventory, pricing and demand data into recommendations that improve yield or revenue.
- Confidence working across Sales, Pricing, Airtime and Ad Operations, with the curiosity and initiative to build deep expertise in Nova’s audio inventory setting.
- A media, advertising technology or publisher background is preferred; applicants with only general data analysis or finance experience will need to demonstrate directly transferable inventory, yield or ad-tech expertise.
