Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist is a full time, on-site role based in the Greater Newcastle Area. This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery to produce precision components according to technical drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include selecting tools and materials, performing test runs, monitoring machine performance, and adjusting programs or tooling to maintain quality and efficiency.

The CNC Machinist inspects finished parts,



completes quality checks, and documents measurements to meet strict tolerance and safety standards. The role also involves routine machine maintenance, collaboration with engineers and production staff, and contributing to continuous improvement in machining processes.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in CNC Machine Operation and general Machinery handling, including safe setup, calibration, and shutdown procedures.
- Strong Machining and Milling skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and produce components to tight tolerances.
- Experience in Quality Control, including the use of measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and documentation of inspection results.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CNC programs (e.g., G-code).
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all procedures.
- Experience with precision CNC machining in heavy industry or similar environments is highly beneficial.
