Chef / Cook – Full-Time | Crows Nest

Small Bar Crows Nest Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum

Small Bar Crows Nest is an established 120-seat tapas-style restaurant that has been part of the Crows Nest community for over 10 years. We pride ourselves on great food, excellent service, and a hardworking but enjoyable team setting.

We’re looking for an experienced Chef / Cook to join our team full time and take a hands-on role in the day-to-day running of our kitchen.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has formal culinary/hospitality qualifications and/or 2–3+ years’ experience in a busy commercial kitchen
- Has experience with tapas, small plates, or a similar style of cuisine
- Is confident working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Has experience supervising a kitchen and small team
- Takes pride in food quality, consistency, presentation, and cleanliness
- Has a good understanding of food safety, stock control, ordering, and kitchen costs
- Is reliable, organised, and works well with both kitchen and floor teams

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, cooking,



and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
- Supervising and supporting chefs and cooks
- Managing kitchen preparation and service
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Contributing to menu development and weekly specials
- Managing stocktakes, ordering, portion control, and wastage
- Working with the General Manager on rostering, staffing, and cost of goods
- Working closely with floor staff to deliver an excellent customer experience
- Preparing and organising the kitchen for the following day’s service
