City of Mount Gambier has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to join the Building and Asset Maintenance team.
About the position:
- Permanent Full-time

The Coordinator – Building and Asset Maintenance plays a pivotal role in overseeing a large portion of the maintenance and upkeeping of buildings, facilities, and assets within the City of Mount Gambier. The core function of this role are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Building and Asset Maintenance Team, Council’s Cleaners, and also for arranging and supervising a range of specialist contractors. The Coordinator – Building and Asset Maintenance will also oversee the provision of a rapid response service to attend urgent minor maintenance issues. This position is classified at Level 6 (currently $113,124.21 – 120,554.13 per annum) of the City of Mount Gambier Administration Staff Agreement No.[13 2025](tel:13 2025).
About you:
- Provide first line supervision to the team, ensuring teamwork through consultation, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Proven track record in overseeing building maintenance, facilities coordination, or asset management.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and the capability to effectively accomplish assigned tasks to a high standard within designated deadlines.
- Understanding of the application of continuous improvement principles to ensure increased efficiency and productivity of the organisation.
- Experience in applying risk management and work health safety principles within an operational environment.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
