Elevate Legal Talent is seeking an experienced Corporate / M&A; Lawyer for a 6-month secondment with a leading Australian financial institution.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing in-house legal team, supporting a strong pipeline of M&A; transactions and strategic corporate matters.
The successful lawyer will work closely with experienced in-house legal and business stakeholders, providing commercially focused legal advice across a range of transactions in a fast-paced banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and advice on M&A; transactions, including transaction structuring, due diligence and documentation.
- Advise on a range of corporate and banking matters relevant to the business.
- Draft, review and negotiate transaction and financing documentation.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers to support transactions through to completion.
- Identify and manage legal and commercial risks while providing practical, business-focused advice.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Corporate, Treasury and WIB functions.
About You We are ideally seeking a lawyer with:
- 3-5 years' post-admission experience in corporate/M&A; and/or banking law.
- Strong hands-on experience working on M&A; transactions.
- Experience within a top-tier law firm and/or in-house banking/financial services environment.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- A pragmatic, commercially minded approach to legal advice.
More senior lawyers are also encouraged to apply where they have robust, directly relevant M&A; and banking experience.
