Role Description The Data Analyst (Entry / Junior) role is a part time position based in Melbourne, VIC, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. In this role, the analyst supports data-driven decision-making by collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources.
Day-to-day tasks include performing basic data analysis, preparing reports and dashboards, and assisting in building data models under the guidance of senior team members. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to interpret findings, present insights in a clear format, and contribute to ongoing improvement of data processes. This position offers hands-on experience with modern data tools and methodologies in a consulting environment.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills and foundational Data Analytics capabilities to interpret trends, identify patterns, and support business decisions.
- Working knowledge of Statistics and Data Modeling to assist in building simple models,
validating results, and supporting quantitative analysis.
- Effective Communication skills to explain insights clearly, prepare concise reports, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Basic proficiency with data tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, or BI tools such as Power BI/Tableau) and an interest in learning new analytics technologies.
- Relevant academic background in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field (completed or in progress).
- Attention to detail, curiosity about data, and the ability to follow structured processes while working both independently and within a team.
- Understanding of digital commerce or customer experience concepts is an advantage; prior internship or project experience with data is beneficial.
