Role Summary The Data Governance Solution Architect will lead the design, implementation, configuration, and optimisation of the organisation's enterprise Data Governance platform using Informatica IDMC. The role combines strategic architecture responsibilities with hands-on implementation and technical leadership, ensuring governance capabilities are successfully established across metadata management, business glossaries, data lineage, data quality, stewardship workflows, and governance reporting.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Owners, Data Stewards, Enterprise Architects, and technical teams to implement an enterprise-wide Data Governance framework and associated Informatica capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Governance Strategy & Architecture

- Define the target-state Data Governance architecture aligned with organisational objectives and data strategy.
- Design governance capabilities, including business glossaries, metadata management, data lineage, data quality management, stewardship workflows, and governance reporting.
- Develop governance standards, architectural principles, and implementation roadmaps.
- Ensure alignment between governance processes, operating models, and technology implementation.

Informatica Solution Design

- Lead the solution architecture and technical design of Informatica Data Governance platforms (IDMC).
- Design enterprise solutions using Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC), Informatica Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), Informatica Data Quality (IDQ/CDQ), and Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).
- Define metadata ingestion, lineage capture, cataloguing, stewardship, and governance workflows.
- Design security,



access controls, role-based permissions, and governance operating models within Informatica.
- Define integration patterns between Informatica and enterprise data platforms, applications, reporting tools, and source systems.

Informatica Configuration & Development

- Configure Informatica governance, cataloguing, lineage, metadata management, and data quality capabilities.
- Implement and maintain business glossaries, governance workflows, stewardship processes, and governance dashboards.
- Configure metadata scanners, data discovery capabilities, lineage extraction, and automated cataloguing processes.
- Develop and configure data quality rules, scorecards, profiling jobs, monitoring processes, and remediation workflows.
- Design and implement metadata onboarding processes for enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Configure security models, user roles, stewardship responsibilities, and governance workflows.

Integration & Connector Development

- Design, develop, and configure integrations between Informatica and enterprise systems.
- Implement metadata ingestion and lineage capture from cloud and on-premises platforms.
- Develop and configure custom connectors, APIs, and integration components where required.
- Enable metadata harvesting from data warehouses, ETL tools, BI platforms, databases, cloud services, and enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with platform and application teams to onboard recent systems into the Data Governance platform.
- Troubleshoot and optimise metadata ingestion, lineage generation, and connector performance.

Data Governance Framework Implementation

- Establish Data Ownership, Stewardship, Accountability, and Governance processes.
- Define and implement Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and governance controls.
- Design Data Quality frameworks, monitoring processes, issue management workflows, and remediation procedures.
- Develop governance KPIs, scorecards, executive reporting, and adoption metrics.
- Support regulatory, audit, compliance, privacy, and risk management requirements.

Metadata Management & Data Lineage

- Design enterprise metadata management and business glossary solutions.
- Define standards for business, technical, and operational metadata.
- Establish automated lineage capabilities across enterprise systems.
- Enable impact analysis and traceability from source to consumption layers.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

- Facilitate governance workshops with business and technology stakeholders.




- Translate business requirements into governance capabilities and technical solutions.
- Provide guidance to Data Governance Business Analysts, Data Stewards, Data Owners, and delivery teams.
- Drive governance adoption and organisational change management initiatives.
- Present solution designs and governance recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance committees.

Technical Leadership & Delivery Oversight

- Provide technical leadership throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Review solution designs, configurations, integrations, and deployment activities.
- Guide technical teams on Informatica implementation best practices.
- Support environment setup, deployment planning, testing, migration, and production release activities.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide resolution strategies.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and operational requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Management, Data Architecture, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years of hands-on Informatica implementation experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise Data Governance solutions.
- Strong experience configuring and administering Informatica governance products.
- Experience developing integrations, metadata ingestion processes, and custom connectors.
- Experience implementing Business Glossary, Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Quality, and Stewardship capabilities.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance operating models and governance frameworks.
- Experience working across business, technology, risk, compliance, and data management functions.

Technical Experience

Strong experience with one or more of the following:
