Dr Danny Chou is a highly respected specialist gynaecologist with expertise in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery for complex benign gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic floor disorders. Our practice is committed to providing high quality, compassionate, personalised care in a supportive and professional environment.

We are looking for a friendly, organised and motivated Medical Secretary to become an integral part of our close-knit team. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of women navigating complex health conditions while working alongside a leading specialist in a modern, progressive practice.

As one of the first points of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a warm and welcoming experience from their first enquiry through to their ongoing care. You will be the backbone of our administrative operations, ensuring our clinical team can focus on delivering outstanding patient care.

Position

This is a permanent part-time position based at our Kogarah consulting rooms, working Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, also covering for other staff on leave.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Welcoming patients with warmth, professionalism and empathy

Managing patient appointments, scheduling and maintaining accurate appointment records

Coordinating surgical bookings and theatre list, medicare and health fund management.

Managing incoming phone calls,



emails and patient enquiries in a timely and professional manner

Preparing and organising patient records, specialist correspondence and medical documentation

Processing patient registrations, referrals and admission documentation

Managing accounts, daily banking, reconciliations and patient billing enquiries

Maintaining confidential patient records and ensuring compliance with privacy legislation and practice policies

Providing administrative support to the Practice Manager and Specialist

Maintaining office supplies and assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice

Contributing positively to a supportive, respectful and patient-focused team culture

About You

The ideal candidate will:

Have at least 1–2 years’ experience in medical reception, medical secretarial or specialist medical administration ( preferred )

Have experience with Genie practice software ( preferred )

Have experience with surgical bookings, Medicare and health fund billing ( preferred )

Have a sound understanding of medical terminology

Be compassionate, patient-focused and genuinely enjoy helping people

Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal





Be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Be confident using medical software, Microsoft Office and general office systems

Be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and remain calm in a busy environment

Be reliable, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a cooperative team

Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
