About the role

Elite Dental Care is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team in Mackay, QLD on a casual/ full time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic dental environment, providing essential support to our dental professionals and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our practice, contributing to a positive patient experience and the overall success of our clinic.

What you'll be doing

- Providing chairside assistance to dentists during patient treatments and procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments, and maintaining dental equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
- Processing dental radiographs (X-rays) under supervision
- Recording patient medical and dental histories and maintaining accurate patient records
- Assisting with patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative duties
- Providing compassionate patient support and ensuring a welcoming clinic environment
- Maintaining compliance with dental health and safety regulations
- Supporting the dental team with inventory management and stock ordering as required

What we're looking for

- A recognised Dental Assistant qualification or equivalent relevant experience in a dental setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities
- Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocols




- Proficiency with dental software and computer systems
- A compassionate, patient-focused approach to patient care
- Flexibility and reliability with availability for casual shifts
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
