We’re seeking a high‑calibre Design Manager to lead and coordinate the end‑to‑end design process across complex building projects in NSW. This role suits someone who thrives on solving technical problems, driving consultant performance, and ensuring designs are compliant, coordinated, and buildable.
What You’ll Do
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams from concept to construction
- Manage architectural, structural, civil, services, façade and specialist consultants
- Oversee compliance with NCC, Australian Standards, DCPs, SEPPs and the D&BP; Act
- Run design workshops, technical reviews, and coordination meetings
- Resolve design issues, RFIs, clashes, and construction‑stage queries
- Drive design quality, constructability, and value engineering
- Manage design programs, deliverables, and approval pathways (DA, CC, CDC, OC)
- Act as the key interface between client, consultants, authorities, and project teams
What You Bring
- Robust technical capability across building design and construction
- Deep understanding of NSW regulatory frameworks and compliance
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary consultants
- Ability to read, critique, and integrate complex technical documentation
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar
- Experience in Class 2 or complex building projects is a must
