Purpose:

This position plays a lead role in executing acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalisations, refinancings, infrastructure and general corporate syndicated loan transactions while managing underwriting risk and distribution strategy across bank and institutional investor channels.

The role combines client coverage, credit and structuring expertise with deep institutional investor and bank distribution capability across the Australian and broader APAC leveraged and corporate loan markets.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

- Originating syndicated loan opportunities in coordination with coverage personnel across private equity sponsors, corporates, infrastructure and event-driven situations.
- Identifying financing opportunities arising from acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalisations, M&A; activity and strategic corporate events.
- Leading client discussions regarding financing strategy, market conditions, pricing, structure and execution approach.
- Leading transaction underwriting analysis including leverage, covenant structure, documentation and syndication strategy.
- Coordinating with coverage teams on the preparation of credit submissions, investment committee materials and internal approvals.
- Managing primary syndication and distribution processes across bank and institutional investor markets.
- Leading lender education processes including information memoranda, bank meetings, investor calls and roadshows.
- Maintaining active dialogue with domestic and international lenders, credit funds and institutional investors.
- Coordinating internal and external workstreams including coverage, risk, legal, treasury, operations and external advisers.
- Negotiating key commercial terms with borrowers, sponsors and syndicate participants.
- Providing market intelligence and strategic insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting management of underwriting pipeline, portfolio exposure and capital allocation considerations.




- Assisting with portfolio distribution, monitoring and management of positions where required.
- Mentoring and developing junior team members including Associates and Vice Presidents.

Required experience, skills or qualifications:

- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics or related discipline.
- 10+ years experience in corporate finance, syndicated loans, acquisition finance, debt capital markets or structured finance
- Experience with APAC syndicated loan markets.
- Strong understanding of syndicated loan documentation, underwriting and distribution processes.
- Demonstrated experience executing sponsor-backed, corporate, infrastructure and event-driven transactions.
- Existing relationships with sponsors, corporates, advisors and bank /institutional investors.
- Experience with leveraged buyouts, infrastructure financings and cross-border transactions.
- Familiarity with institutional term loan and private credit markets.
- Robust credit analysis and financial modelling capability.
