Director - Energy Markets Advisory

Melbourne CBD | Circa $250,000 base + super + bonus

Uplift Recruitment has been engaged by an Australian energy-sector organisation to appoint a Director to lead and grow a specialist advisory capability from its Melbourne office.

This is a senior, client-facing position combining commercial and strategic advisory, practice leadership, project delivery and business development.

The successful candidate will advise renewable energy and storage developers, investors, major corporates and electricity market participants on complex commercial decisions across Australia’s evolving energy market.

This is not purely a technical delivery or business development position. You will need the market credibility to advise senior clients, the commercial ability to originate work and the leadership capability to deliver it.

The prospect

- Lead commercial and strategic advisory engagements across the Australian electricity market
- Advise on renewable energy, storage, investment and market participation strategies
- Support project commercialisation, asset value and long-term offtake arrangements
- Personally originate and convert significant advisory opportunities
- Build strong relationships with developers, investors, corporates and electricity buyers
- Grow the advisory offering into new clients, markets and service areas




- Lead project teams and oversee the delivery of high-quality client outcomes
- Contribute to the broader strategy and growth of the business

What we are looking for

- At least 10 years’ experience across Australia’s electricity or energy markets
- Deep working knowledge of the National Electricity Market
- Experience building or leading an energy consulting, commercial advisory or similar practice
- A demonstrated ability to personally originate, win and deliver significant advisory engagements
- Experience across renewable energy, BESS, market strategy, PPAs or other offtake arrangements
- Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and senior stakeholder engagement skills
- Established industry relationships and credibility within the Australian energy market
- Strong project, team and client leadership experience
- Qualifications in engineering, economics, finance, business or a related discipline

You may currently be operating as a Director, Principal, Partner, Head of Advisory or senior consulting leader within the energy sector. This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a growing advisory capability while influencing significant decisions across Australia’s energy transition.
