About the role The Engagement Officer is responsible for leading participant intake and onboarding within the region. This role manages the initial participant journey, ensuring a smooth, professional and compliant transition from referral through to program commencement.

The Engagement

Officer leads program information sessions, conducts pre-training assessments, coordinates onboarding, and ensures participants are fully prepared to commence their program. The role builds and maintains solid relationships with referral partners, employers, community organisations, and other stakeholders to support participant engagement and retention. This position plays an important role in ensuring participant referrals are actioned promptly, documentation is complete, compliant and meets contractual, audit, and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Lead group and individual program information sessions for prospective participants
- Conduct pre-training reviews, suitability checks, pre-training interviews and core skills assessments
- Coordinate participant onboarding, enrolment, induction, and commencement processes
- Ensure participants receive clear, timely, and supportive communication throughout the process
- Receive, track, and action referrals in a timely manner in line with program KPIs
- Liaise with Workforce Australia providers, other referral agencies, employers, community partners, and internal teams to progress referrals efficiently
- Build effective professional working relationships with referral partners, employers, government stakeholders,



and community organisations
- Ensure participant records and onboarding documents are accurate, complete, and stored correctly
- Maintain compliance with funding contracts, regulatory standards, and internal policies
- Coordinate with delivery staff to ensure smooth handover into active program participation

About you

- Experience in participant engagement, intake, onboarding and stakeholder coordination would be ideal
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively build rapport
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within region
- Current Working with Children Check and clear National Police Check
