Role Description The Entry Level Software Developer / Junior Developer at VFX and AI User Group is a full-time remote role focused on building and maintaining software tools and web applications that support the community and its content. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, maintainable code, assisting with back-end web development, and contributing to the design and implementation of new features.
The developer will participate in code reviews, debug and fix issues, and collaborate with senior developers and content contributors to integrate functionality that serves VFX and AI users. The role may also involve working with APIs, basic database operations, and supporting enhancements based on user feedback.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge in Computer Science and Software Development, including understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software life cycle.
- Programming skills with a focus on Object-Oriented Programming (OOP),
using languages such as Python, Java, C#, or similar.
- Basic experience or coursework in Back-End Web Development, including working with servers, APIs, and databases.
- Ability to learn new tools and frameworks relevant to VFX and AI workflows, with a robust interest in these domains.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to work independently in a remote environment.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community members.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic agile or collaborative development practices is beneficial.
