GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations.

We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation.

Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the recommencement of a mine with a proud history, help rebuild operational capability and be part of a solid and experienced mining team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Superintendent Compliance, the Control Room Officer plays an important role in supporting safe and compliant underground mining activities at Tahmoor Mine.

You will be a key communication link between underground operations, site leadership and emergency response processes, helping ensure issues are escalated quickly, information is recorded accurately and operational control is maintained throughout each shift.

This role is based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities.

Key activities include but are not limited to:

- Monitor underground control systems,



including SCADA, communications, CCTV and logistics, escalating issues as required.
- Implement Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs), including emergency or controlled withdrawal processes when required.
- Respond to emergency calls, system tests and simulated emergency situations as the first point of contact.
- Monitor gas, ventilation, plant and equipment trends, reporting issues to relevant operational stakeholders for action.
- Track underground personnel and vehicle movements to support safe and effective withdrawal if required.
- Support emergency response coordination by acting as the communication link between underground teams and incident management.
- Record shift data, alarms and issues accurately, ensuring timely escalation and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Complete detailed shift handovers and input mining progress data into short interval control reports.

ABOUT YOU

What you’ll bring:

- Statutory Mining Official qualification or Engineering Degree (desirable)
- 3–5 years’ experience working in an underground coal mining environment.
- Strong understanding of underground mining processes, systems and operational risk controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and shift information.
- The ability to remain composed, focused and responsive in high-pressure situations.
- Confidence prioritising competing tasks in a high-risk operational environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills across teams, shifts and levels of the business.
