GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations.
We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation.
Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the recommencement of a mine with a proud history, help rebuild operational capability and be part of a strong and experienced mining team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Ventilation and Gas Drainage Superintendent, the Gas Drainage Engineer will provide technical support to the Gas Drainage Department to help deliver the Weekly Plan and safely operate, optimise and improve gas drainage systems at Tahmoor Mine
This role is based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities.
Key activities include but are not limited to
- Support the safe operation,
monitoring and optimisation of gas drainage systems.
- Complete engineering calculations and provide practical recommendations to improve performance.
- Provide technical input to daily, shiftly and weekly planning activities.
- Support coordinators and operational teams with planning, scheduling and execution.
- Assist with identifying and managing high-risk activities required for the weekly schedule.
- Support maintenance planning, reporting, KPI tracking and corrective actions.
- Contribute to forecasting, budget inputs and improvement initiatives.
- Prepare clear technical reports, documentation and recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, projects and service providers to deliver safe and reliable outcomes.
ABOUT YOU
What you’ll bring:
- Relevant engineering qualification, ideally in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Underground coal mining experience, with exposure to gas drainage, planning or technical functions.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, including data interpretation and calculations.
- Ability to support planning, reporting, performance improvement and corrective actions.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operational and technical teams.
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement and disciplined execution.
