GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations.
We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation.
Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the recommencement of a mine with a proud history, help rebuild operational capability and be part of a strong and experienced mining team.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Mechanical Coordinator will provide leadership and coordination of mechanical maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations across site
Opportunities may be available across a range of operational areas in the business, including:
- Mine services
- Development
- Gas Drainage
- Weekend operations
- RTV
- Coal Preparation Plant
These roles are based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities. Key activities include but are not limited to
- Lead the safe, disciplined execution of mechanical maintenance activities within the assigned area.
- Coordinate employees, contractors, equipment, materials and work priorities to deliver agreed mechanical maintenance plans.
- Support effective planning, scheduling and day-to-day resourcing of mechanical maintenance work in alignment with the 13-week schedule and weekly area plan.
- Monitor mechanical equipment performance, identify issues and support actions to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Ensure mechanical work is completed safely, cost effectively and by competent personnel in line with relevant standards, procedures and statutory requirements.
- Manage operational interfaces, emerging risks and changes to priorities while maintaining alignment with site plans.
- Coach, mentor and support mechanical team members to build capability, accountability and performance.
ABOUT YOU
What you’ll bring:
- Mechanical trade, mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent relevant maintenance experience.
- Experience in underground coal mining, mining or heavy industry environments, ideally in mechanical maintenance execution.
- Strong capability in planning, scheduling, prioritising and coordinating mechanical maintenance activities.
- Ability to develop scopes of work and support protected, practical mechanical work execution.
- Sound technical troubleshooting capability with a strong understanding of safety, risk, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including coaching and supporting team performance.
