Make a difference for children and families. We are seeking an experienced Family Services Practitioner to join a family-focused program supporting children, parents and families in Warrnambool area.

This is an opportunity to work alongside families experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage, helping them build on their strengths, navigate challenges and achieve meaningful, sustainable change.

You'll use a strengths-based, child-centred approach to provide targeted interventions that promote the safety, wellbeing and development of children and support parents to build their confidence and capacity.

This is a full time, 6-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension.

You will:

- Undertake comprehensive risk, wellbeing and parenting assessments, identifying family strengths, needs and safety concerns.
- Develop and implement collaborative, strengths-based case plans that support families to achieve meaningful and sustainable goals.
- Maintain a strong focus on the best interests of the child, promoting safety, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
- Facilitate parenting assessments and education, supporting parents to build confidence, capacity and skills.
- Provide outreach case management and crisis support,



responding to changing family needs and connecting families with appropriate services.
- Maintain high-quality case documentation and work collaboratively with families, colleagues and other services to coordinate support and achieve positive outcomes.

What you'll bring

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work or a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience working in a family support, child and family wellbeing, or similar program.
- Strong assessment, case planning and intervention skills.
- A sound understanding of child safety, family functioning, parenting capacity and risk.
- Highly developed time management, organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents and families.
