Finance Manager (Hands-on)
Location: Sydney, NSW
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: AUD 100,000 – 120,000 + Superannuation
About Atmoce
Atmoce is a global clean energy technology company operating across more than 20 countries. As our Australian business continues to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the local finance function and support the establishment of scalable financial processes, reporting frameworks, and controls.
This role is ideal for a proactive finance professional who enjoys both strategic financial analysis and day-to-day financial operations. The successful candidate will work closely with management, headquarters, external accountants, auditors, and service providers to ensure strong financial governance and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
- Manage the full Accounts Payable (AP) process, including invoice verification, payment scheduling and vendor management
- Manage the full Accounts Receivable (AR) process, including customer invoicing, collections and cash flow monitoring
- Process payroll and coordinate payroll compliance requirements
- Manage employee expense claims and corporate credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial performance reports
- Develop budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections
- Analyse revenue, gross margins, operating expenses and overall business performance
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
- Support HQ reporting requirements and ad hoc financial analysis
- Develop financial dashboards and KPI reporting frameworks
Accounting & Compliance
- Act as the primary liaison with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors and payroll providers
- Coordinate BAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax and other statutory reporting requirements
- Support annual financial statement preparation and audit processes
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting, taxation and regulatory requirements
- Maintain finance policies, internal controls and supporting documentation
Finance Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead the implementation, optimisation and ongoing administration of finance systems
- Support integration between accounting, CRM, payroll and reporting platforms
- Develop and improve financial controls, approval workflows and reporting processes
- Drive automation and process efficiency initiatives
- Establish scalable finance processes and reporting structures to support business growth
Business Partnering
- Partner with management to support business planning and decision-making
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support strategic initiatives
- Monitor business performance against budgets and forecasts
- Support management with financial modelling, scenario analysis and investment evaluations
- Assist with ad hoc projects and management reporting requirements

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CPA or CA qualified (or actively working towards qualification)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance or commercial finance roles
- Strong hands-on experience across AP, AR, Payroll, General Ledger and Month-End Close processes
- Experience preparing management reports, budgets,
forecasts and financial analysis
- Experience working with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query and financial modelling
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to operate independently in a standalone finance role within a growing business
Highly Desirable
- Experience in an Australian subsidiary of an international company
- Experience establishing finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks in a growing business
- Experience implementing or improving accounting, payroll, ERP, CRM or reporting systems
- Experience with Xero, NetSuite, SAP Business One, MYOB or similar accounting platforms
- Experience in renewable energy, technology, manufacturing or distribution industries
