As the Financial Accountant, Wellness, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial accounting, compliance and reporting across HBF's Wellness businesses. Working closely with operational and finance stakeholders, you'll help deliver high quality financial information that supports decision-making, regulatory compliance and business performance.
This is a hands-on role that combines technical accounting expertise with leadership and continuous improvement. You'll oversee the month-end process, support tax and compliance activities, contribute to statutory reporting requirements and provide coaching and support to a direct report, helping drive strong financial outcomes across the division.
Key responsibilities include
- Managing month-end financial accounting activities, including journals, reconciliations and reporting
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the integrity of financial records and controls
- Preparing special purpose financial statements and supporting year-end reporting requirements
- Supporting tax and compliance activities, including BAS, IAS, payroll tax and audit requirement
- Maintaining a strong control environment and helping ensure compliance with accounting standards and governance requirement
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and leverage automation
- Supporting accounts payable activities and financial reporting obligations
About you
You're a technically robust accountant who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes. You bring a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail and the ability to balance competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
You enjoy building relationships across an organisation, providing trusted advice and identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls. You'll also bring;
- CA ANZ or CPA qualification
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, reporting and compliance within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, governance and taxation requirements
- Experience preparing reconciliations, financial statements and month-end reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP or accounting systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A passion for continuous improvement and finding better ways of working
