- Full Time, 35 hours
- 12 months temporary contract
- Location: Willing to consider candidates across all DPIRD NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally.
- Clerk Grade 7/8– Salary starting from $116,981.00 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading

About The Role The Finance Control & Reporting Team of Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development are seeking a Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working in a complex and dynamic environment while contributing to high-quality financial governance and reporting outcomes.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, NSW Treasury policies, and statutory reporting requirements while contributing to the integrity and continuous improvement of the Department's financial management framework.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will prepare month-end and statutory reports, assist with annual financial statements, perform financial analysis and reconciliations, support audit processes, and provide expert advice on public sector accounting practices.

About You

You are a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements. You have the ability to analyse complex financial information, identify risks and opportunities,



and deliver accurate outcomes within tight deadlines. You are comfortable working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and providing trusted financial advice to support business decision-making.

To be successful in the role, you will have (essential):

- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and/or equivalent experience
- Degree qualification in Commerce, Business or similar field, or currently completing a Degree qualification in Commerce, Business or relevant field, or extensive relevant practical experience
