Are you passionate about providing quality meals and exceptional service to older Australians? Respect Cohuna Village is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Food Services Assistant to join our dedicated team on a permanent part-time basis.

Working under the guidance of the Chef/Cook, you'll play an important role in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals and refreshments while helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable dining experience for our residents.

This permanent part-time position requires a commitment to the following fortnightly roster:

Week 1

- Wednesday: 12:00pm – 7:00pm

Week 2

- Tuesday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm
- Sunday: 6:30am – 1:30pm

Additional shifts may be available and can be picked up by mutual agreement. Flexibility to work additional shifts, weekends, and public holidays where required is desirable.

About The Role

As a Food Services Assistant, you will contribute to the delivery of food services that support the health, wellbeing, and individual preferences of our residents. You will assist with food preparation, meal service, cleaning, and maintaining food safety standards in accordance with the Food Safety Program (FSP).

You will help ensure residents receive nutritious meals and refreshments in a friendly, respectful, and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation, presentation, serving, and delivery of meals and refreshments in accordance with the Food Safety Program (FSP).
- Contribute to providing meals that meet residents' nutritional needs and individual preferences.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, dining, and food service environment in line with the FSP.




- Assist with monitoring and recording food safety requirements, including temperature checks and receipting of goods.
- Deliver meals and refreshments to residents in a friendly, respectful, and timely manner.
- Report any concerns relating to residents' food or beverage intake to the Registered Nurse in Charge.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, and food service areas.
- Support the Chef/Cook and wider kitchen team to ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service are maintained.
- Work respectfully with residents and colleagues to create a positive dining experience.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Availability and commitment to work the specified fortnightly roster.
- A Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in food services, preferably within residential aged care or a healthcare workplace.
- A genuine commitment to providing quality service and enhancing the dining experience for older people.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive, caring, and respectful approach to working with older people.
- A current National Police Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).

Please note: As part of the recruitment process, all successful candidates must meet the legislative requirements of the Aged Care Worker Screening process to ensure suitability to work within the aged care sector.
