About the role The successful applicant will be responsible for the setup and operation of forge and trim presses in accordance with established forging industry principles.

Key responsibilities

- Install and set up tooling on press die sets, including positioning and clamping holding fixtures and keys

- Align metal parts between dies to ensure correct positioning through all production operations

- Dimensionally lay out parts and evaluate them against engineering drawings

- Monitor and record all associated product dimensions to ensure full conformance with customer specifications

- Identify maintenance needs on equipment and report issues to management

- Mix lubricants in lubrication tanks according to process requirements

- Perform preventative maintenance checks on hammers, presses, and die sets when required





- Monitor furnace temperatures based on the type of metal being forged

- Read and interpret drawings, job cards, inspection sheets, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure documents

- Maintain a safe, clean, and well organised workspace while following all health, safety, and environmental regulations

About you

- Capable of operating a two ton hammer safely and effectively

- Able to read and interpret technical documents

- Able to communicate effectively with management and colleagues and work collaboratively within a team workplace

- Able to apply practical reasoning to carry out instructions and resolve production problems
