We're looking for a customer-focused and data-driven Product Owner to help shape and deliver the next generation of Smartgroup's Fleet SaaS platform.
Fleet is a strategic growth priority and is undergoing a significant transformation.You'llwork as part of a cross-functional product team to turn customer and business needs into valuable digital experiences, balancing user outcomes, commercialgoalsand technical considerations.
Working alongside Product Managers, Designers,Engineersand business stakeholders,you'llhelp discover opportunities, definesolutionsand ensure the team is focused on delivering the right outcomes at the right time.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with delivery teams, solving customerproblemsanddefining creative solutions forB2B SaaS products with layers of complexity.
What You'll Do
Act as the key interface between customers, businessstakeholdersand delivery teams, ensuring priorities are aligned and understood.
Work day-to-day with a dedicated cross-functional product squad, providing clarity,directionand ongoing support throughout delivery.
Translate customer, business and operational needs into clear priorities, actionablerequirementsand well-defined outcomes.
Own and continuously refine the product backlog, ensuring work is prioritised according to customer value, businessobjectivesand technical considerations.
Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to contribute to discovery activities,validateopportunities and shape effective solutions.
Collaborate with engineers to break down complex initiatives, define acceptancecriteriaand make informed trade-off decisions during delivery.
Facilitate and activelyparticipatein Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning,reviewsand retrospectives.
Partner closely with technology, operations and business stakeholders to manage dependencies, resolve issues andmaintainalignment.
Use customer feedback, operationalinsightsand performance data to evaluate outcomes and inform future priorities.
Champion continuous improvement within the team,leveragingemerging technologies and AI tools to improve ways of working, deliveryeffectivenessand product quality.
Whatwe'relooking for
3+years experienceworking as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar digital product role within a software,technologyor digital environment.
Strong experience translating customer, business and operational needs into transparent requirements and delivery priorities.
Experience working closely with software engineering teams in Agile environments, with a strong understanding of modern product delivery practices.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity and make informed trade-off decisions.
Solid stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across technical and non-technical audiences.
Highly organised and comfortable bringing structure and clarity to complex problems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data and evidence to support decision-making.
A team-oriented mindset with the ability to influence, align and drive outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
A genuine focus on customer outcomes, balanced with commercial,operationaland technical considerations.
Experience with SaaS products, digital platforms or complex workflow-based systems would be highly regarded.
This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.
