Head of Department – Technologies

ANZUK Education is partnering with a respected secondary school in the Gold Coast region seeking an experienced and collaborative Head of Department – Technologies to join their leadership team from Term 3, 2026.

This is an exciting prospect for a passionate leader to guide the Technologies faculty while continuing to maintain a teaching load. The school is seeking a leader who can build strong relationships, support staff development and drive curriculum excellence across the department.

About the Role. As Head of Department, you will play a key role in shaping teaching and learning outcomes within the Technologies faculty. Working closely with school leadership and teaching staff, you will provide curriculum oversight, mentor teachers, and contribute to the strategic direction of the school.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support the Technologies faculty through effective curriculum leadership
- Mentor, coach, and empower teaching staff to achieve best practice
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, moderation, and reporting processes
- Monitor student achievement and implement strategies to improve outcomes
- Foster a culture of collaboration,



innovation, and continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider school community
- Maintain a teaching load while contributing to the broader leadership team

Qualifications and Expectations

- Proven experience in curriculum leadership or middle leadership roles
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to lead, mentor, and support staff development
- Excellent organisational and curriculum management capabilities
- A collaborative and people-focused leadership style
- Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration, or eligibility to obtain registration
- Experience teaching within a secondary school setting
