QIX Consulting is looking for an experienced Functional Consultant – Industrial Historian to support a major IT/OT separation and system migration program within the gas and energy utilities sector.

This is a highly specialised role suited to someone with strong Industrial Historian expertise who understands OT environments, SCADA integrations and operational data flows, and has previously supported historian migration, separation or re-platforming programs.

? What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead functional activities across the Industrial Historian migration and separation
- Analyse current-state historian architecture, tag structures, interfaces and operational data flows
- Support lift-and-shift, re-platforming, tag migration and interface re-pointing
- Work closely with SCADA, PLC and DCS environments to maintain historian continuity
- Validate historian data following migration, including sampling, compression, exception rules and data quality
- Support integrations with SAP/Maximo, GIS, work management and analytics platforms
- Develop test plans, UAT scripts, cutover activities and operational acceptance criteria
- Work across IT, OT, engineering, operations and compliance stakeholders
- Deliver documentation, knowledge transfer and transition to BAU teams

? What We’re Looking For

- 7+ years' experience working with Industrial Data Historians within gas, energy, utilities or mining
- Strong expertise with at least one major historian platform,



ideally OSIsoft / AVEVA PI System
- Alternatively, strong experience with AspenTech IP.21, Wonderware Historian or GE Proficy Historian
- Experience with historian migration, consolidation, re-platforming or environment separation
- Solid understanding of SCADA integrations and OT data acquisition
- Experience with protocols such as OPC DA/UA, Modbus, DNP3 and MQTT
- Knowledge of historian tag architecture, compression rules, data quality and event frames
- Understanding of OT cybersecurity and secure operational data flows
- Strong stakeholder engagement across IT, OT, engineering and operations

⭐ Highly Desirable

- PI AF, PI Vision, PI Interfaces or PI Integrators
- Gas transmission, distribution or pipeline environments
- Azure/AWS historian deployments
- TSA / separation program experience
- Utilities regulatory and operational reporting exposure
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, instrumentation diagrams and control narratives
