ROLE IMPACT

The General Manager's responsibilities include implementing strategic plans and objectives, stakeholder engagement, financial management control, strategic leadership and driving organizational success to create a long-term competitive advantage, in line with the vision and mission of the Omnia Group and BME.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Execute Australia operations business strategy aligned to the BME strategy, innovation, transformation and corporate citizenship goals and leads the execution of proactive internal and external customer service excellence strategies and enable global scalability
- Deliver on Return on Capital Assets (ROCA) and Networking Capital (NWC) targets for BME Australia




- Operational management of the function to enable the global growth agenda in Australia
- Achieve sustainable growth, profitability, cash flow and other business goal targets.
- Develop, implement and manage sales plans, ensuring the achievement of sales objectives in assigned accounts and develop new markets within the region through effective business models, management and support of the sales channels to enable future growth.
- Develop skillsets and high-performance employees through mentoring, technical and business training, and challenging assignments that build confidence and demonstrate the team's ability to make significant contributions to the business.
- Mature process and technology capabilities and measurement, reporting as well as continuous improvement, ensuring efficient, effective, timeous, consistent, predictable and reliable quality outputs and services.
- Instill corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus and service and encourages individual integrity and maintain a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining and motivating a diverse group of quality high performing employees at all levels.
- Establish execution of governance, risk and compliance frameworks for the function, in line with the overall risk management framework
- Compliance with the health and safety regulations in the country, state and territory we operate in, abiding by relevant legislation, regulations and other statutory requirements within the department/remit thus ensuring effective management of SHERQ and adherence to stipulated disciplines for continuous improvement of occupational Safety, Health, Workplace, Risk and Quality that impact on any organisation.
- Continuously stay abreast with market trends and industry changes which may impact relevant areas of the business
- Effective relationships in the company and with relevant internal and external stakeholders to deliver on the mandate of the role

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications





- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mining, Operations management or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification in business management
- Frontline management and Leadership development program
- MBA (Advantageous)

Experience

- 10+ years' experience in operations management within a mining/production environment, leading small to medium work groups.

- 10+ years' experience in developing and maintaining customer relationships, P&L; management and commercial management

- Proven experience with driving adoption of new technologies and partnerships (Advantageous)
- Proven experience to mobilize large scale technology and business integration programs (Advantageous)
