What you'll be doing
Contribute to communicable disease surveillance activities across the Mid North Coast and Northern NSW Local Health Districts including liaising with persons diagnosed or suspected of having notifiable conditions, their contacts and healthcare providers and the collection, analysis and interpretation of notifiable disease data as required. Contribute to coordination of communicable disease outbreak management.
About You
You present yourself as a health protection professional with tertiary qualifications in public health and the practical experience needed to apply communicable disease prevention, control and surveillance strategies with confidence.
You demonstrate strong analytical capability, using critical appraisal and problem‑solving skills to interpret surveillance data, contribute to reporting and support evidence‑based decision‑making. Your communication style is polished and adaptable, enabling you to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across clinical, community and government settings.
You manage competing priorities with disciplined time management and organisational skill, consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy within defined resources.
You work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a high‑performing team environment while also motivating and coordinating staff when required. Your technical proficiency is well developed, with confident use of varied software including word processing tools, data management systems and spreadsheets.
You hold a current driver’s licence and are able to travel as operational needs require.
