Role Description This High-Energy Holiday Work role at Proactivity is a contract, on-site position based in Sydney, NSW. The role involves facilitating active holiday programs and events, leading group activities, and engaging children, young people, and families in fun, movement-based experiences. Daily tasks include setting up and packing down equipment, delivering safe and inclusive activity sessions, and motivating participants to stay involved and energized.
Team members collaborate with other coaches and facilitators, follow program plans, and adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities, and group sizes.
The role also includes basic reporting on session outcomes, maintaining a positive and qualified presence, and supporting Proactivity’s commitment to health, wellbeing, and community connection.
Qualifications
- Experience in sports coaching, physical education, group facilitation, or recreation programs, with the ability to lead active sessions confidently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage diverse age groups and build rapport with participants, families, and school or community staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, safety, and wellbeing, including awareness of child-safe practices and ability to support participants of varying abilities.
- High level of energy, reliability, and professionalism, with excellent time-management skills and the capacity to work in a fast-paced holiday program environment.
- Ability to collaborate within a team, follow program guidelines, and adapt activities creatively to suit different settings and group needs.
- Availability to work during school holiday periods and at various on-site locations in Sydney, NSW.
- Relevant certifications or checks such as Working With Children Check, First Aid/CPR, and any applicable local compliance requirements (or willingness to obtain them).
- Background in sports, fitness, coaching, education, youth work, or community programs is highly regarded.
