We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals who dare to be bold and imaginative in providing meaningful support to tenants in the community/social housing sector. Uniting WA currently has a vacancy for a Housing Finance Officer, a role in our Property, Housing and Assets team to help make a difference for vulnerable members of the community.

About the role

As a Housing Finance Officer in the Property, Housing and Assets team at Uniting WA, you will provide support to team members in managing the housing portfolio, as well as assess the eligibility of tenants for various community housing programs. You will be responsible for the administration of systems according to Uniting WA policy, and ensure compliance with the Department Housing and Works, Services Australia (Centrelink), and the Residential Tenancies Act 1987.

Key responsibilities

- Management of tenant rent accounts and ensuring accurate day-to-day accounting, while updating and maintaining accurate data in tenant account systems
- Collating information to facilitate rent reviews and issuing notifications of total rent payable amounts in accordance with policies and procedures
- Assisting tenants and former tenants in debt, collaborating with stakeholders to initiate recovery interventions
- Maintaining accurate consent records in accordance with regulatory requirements and providing relevant data to the Team Leader Tenancy Management

About you

- Experience in a financial administrative position, with an understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act
- Understanding of effective tenancy management in the community/social housing sector




- Awareness of complex challenges that tenants may face and its impact on tenancy sustainability
- Knowledge of Privacy Act principles and confidentiality requirements for storing information
- Experience with a property management system, preferably Zavanti
- Current West Australian driver's licence and National Police Clearance
- Robust financial administration skills and detail-oriented, numerically proficient approach
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
