As an Activity Worker, you take a holistic, person‑centred approach to supporting young people aged 15–24 who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from family, community, education, training or employment. You deliver services across Cairns/Yarrabah/Mareeba regions, focusing on improving young people's capacity to re‑engage with education, build pathways into training and employment, and enhance their overall health and wellbeing.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of statutory requirements, the role, organisational programmes, policies and operations.
- Sound discipline knowledge with experience, training and education.
- Lesser formal qualifications may be acceptable, but substantial years of relevant experience required.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
Compliance
- Evidence of required qualification.
- Satisfactory outcome of a current (less than 3 months old) National Criminal History Check.
- Blue Card (QLD working with children card).
- QLD drivers' licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent.
- Out of hours may be required from time to time.
- Ability (and willingness) to undertake local/regional travel.
- First Aid certificate and CPR certificate.
