Assistant Director / Room Leader – Early Childhood | $40-$53 per hour

A well-established mid-sized early learning centre in the Northern Rivers region is seeking an experienced Assistant Director / Room Leader to join their leadership team.

The centre has a strong reputation in the community, high occupancy, and a stable, experienced team. The Director also holds the Educational Leader role, so this position will play an important role in supporting the leadership of the service while maintaining strong relationships with children, families and educators.

This is a fantastic prospect for a Room Leader ready to step into leadership, or an experienced Assistant Director / 2IC looking to join a high-quality service in a beautiful coastal region.

You will work closely with the Director to support the team and ensure high-quality outcomes for children and families.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the service
- Mentoring and coaching educators
- Conducting one-on-one meetings and staff appraisals
- Supporting educators with professional practice and development




- Assisting with compliance and quality standards
- Helping organise centre events and excursions

What’s on Offer

- $40-$50 per hour + super depending on experience and qualification (negotiable for the right candidate)
- Approximately 20% above award pay
- Worker Retention Payment (WRP) paid
- Full-time role or minimum 4 days per week

About You

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor of Early Childhood
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in early childhood education
- Experience as a Room Leader or in a leadership capacity
- Passion for supporting educators and mentoring teams
- Looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive centre

Location: Northern Rivers Region, NSW (Relocation opportunity from Sydney)
