FULL-TIME SENIOR VETERINARY NURSE – Vineyard Vet Hospital

Vineyard Vet Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and compassionate Senior Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team.

We are a busy, well-established small animal practice dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care to our patients and exceptional service to their owners. Our team prides itself on a collaborative culture, strong clinical standards, and a genuine love for what we do.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their clinical skills, enjoys taking initiative, and is ready to play an important role in supporting our nursing team and the day-to-day running of the hospital.

About the Role

This is a full-time senior nursing position working across a varied and engaging caseload. Alongside hands-on nursing, you will help lead and support the nursing team, maintain high clinical standards, and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the hospital.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Surgical and medical nursing
- Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
- Consult room assistance and patient handling
- In-patient care and hospital management
- Client communication and education
- Laboratory and diagnostic work
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient clinical environment

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced veterinary nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and make a positive contribution to our team.

Ideally, you will have:

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ veterinary nursing experience
- Previous experience in a senior or leadership nursing role is highly regarded
- Robust clinical nursing and animal handling skills
- Confidence with anaesthesia, surgery, hospitalised patients,



and emergency situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to lead by example and support less experienced team members
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and daily hospital operations
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A calm, compassionate, and professional approach to patient care
- The ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, nurses, and support staff
- A genuine interest in mentoring others and contributing to a positive team culture

Interest or experience in reproduction is highly regarded but not essential.
