Bayset is a leading supplier to the construction and infrastructure industry, built on strong relationships, trusted service and delivering solutions to our customers every day.
With a growing national footprint across Queensland, New South Wales, ACT and Victoria, we are focused on developing our people, strengthening our systems and processes, and continuing to build a great place to work.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Coordinator who has a passion for HRIS systems to join our Head Office team in Coopers Plains.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this is a hands-on and varied HR role with a unique opportunity to play a key part in the implementation and ongoing development of Bayset’s new HRIS, ActionHRM. We are currently preparing to launch ActionHRM across the business, and you will work closely with the HR Manager and ActionHRM implementation consultants to help configure, test, roll out the system as well as continuing to develop the system ongoing.
You will help develop processes and workflows, prepare training documentation and user guides, and deliver training and support to employees and managers across all levels of the business. Following implementation, you will become a key internal super-user of ActionHRM, supporting its ongoing administration, development and continuous improvement.
Alongside the HRIS implementation, you’ll be involved across the full range of day-to-day HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, HR administration and basic employee relations matters.
This role would suit someone who enjoys the variety of generalist HR but also has a genuine interest in HR systems, process improvement and training. You’ll enjoy working with people at all levels of a business and be comfortable taking ownership, solving problems and finding better ways of doing things.
Key responsibilities include, but are definitely not limited to:
- Supporting the implementation, configuration, testing and rollout of ActionHRM
- Working directly with ActionHRM implementation consultants throughout the implementation process
- Assisting with the development of HRIS workflows, processes, forms, templates and system functionality
- Developing user guides, training resources and supporting documentation
- Delivering ActionHRM training to employees and managers across all levels of the business
- Becoming a key ActionHRM super-user and supporting ongoing system administration,
troubleshooting and continuous improvement
- Maintaining accurate employee information, documentation and HR records
- Managing recruitment and selection activities end-to-end, including advertising, screening, interviewing, reference checking and offer documentation
- Coordinating onboarding and induction for new employees
- Preparing employment contracts, letters, position descriptions and other HR documentation
- Supporting probation, performance and other basic employee relations processes
- Providing day-to-day HR advice and support to employees and managers
- Supporting HR projects and initiatives across the business
- Assisting with WH&S; compliance, documentation and administration
- Maintaining HR and WH&S; records, registers and reporting requirements
- Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and the employee experience
- Providing responsive and practical HR support across our national business
- Occasional interstate or branch travel may be required to support training, implementation or other HR initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys HR and working with people, but who is equally interested in the systems and processes that sit behind a great employee experience. You’ll be comfortable working across all levels of the organisation – from supporting employees with everyday HR questions through to working with managers on recruitment, employee matters, systems and process improvements.
Most importantly, you will be someone who likes taking ownership. You enjoy learning how systems work, improving processes, creating practical resources and helping other people become confident using current systems and processes.
You will bring
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Officer or similar generalist HR role
- Previous hands-on experience implementing and/or configuring an HRIS
- Experience working with HRIS implementation consultants or external system providers
- Confidence learning, configuring and supporting HR systems
- Experience developing training materials, user guides and HR documentation
- Confidence delivering training and supporting employees and managers with new systems
- Demonstrated experience managing recruitment and selection processes end-to-end
- Experience coordinating employee onboarding and induction
- Experience preparing professional HR documentation, correspondence and employment documentation
- Exposure to basic employee relations and performance management processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and follow-through
- Confidence communicating and building relationships with employees and managers at all levels
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently while knowing when to escalate matters
A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline will be well regarded. Experience supporting WH&S; compliance and administration would also be advantageous, but is not essential.
Previous experience with ActionHRM would be highly regarded, but is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who have successfully worked through the implementation and rollout of an HRIS and understand what it takes to embed a new system across a business.
