About the Role The HSEQ Training Officer is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs supporting shaft operations, access, and egress activities. This role ensures that all personnel working in and around the shaft possess the required skills, knowledge, and competencies to perform their duties safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, site procedures, and company standards. The position plays a critical role in fostering a strong safety culture and maintaining workforce capability through effective training and competency management

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and maintain site training programs and systems to ensure compliance with safety management systems, legislative requirements, and company standards.
- Coordinate, develop, source, and deliver training programs, including theory and practical assessments, to meet operational and workforce competency requirements.
- Manage NSW Coal Mining licensing and compliance requirements, including liaison with Registered Training Organisations, SafeWork NSW, and the NSW Resources Regulator.
- Coordinate client induction requirements, including Site-Specific Inductions, Pegasus system administration,



and workforce onboarding activities.
- Provide HSEQ support through safety observations, risk assessments, incident reporting, and advice to management on workplace health and safety legislative requirements.

About You:

- Australian citizenship or PR.
- Ability to work in both underground and surface mining environments including exposure to varying weather conditions and underground heat.
- Capacity to sit for extended periods while driving or travelling underground and perform regular computer-based work.
- Ability to walk on uneven, wet, muddy terrain and safely enter and exit heavy mobile equipment.
- Ability to climb ladderways and undertake emergency egress activities, including walking extended distances on steep gradients when required.
- Willingness and ability to wear required PPE, including mining-specific equipment such as a miner's belt, hard hat, cap lamp, battery pack, and self-rescuer.
