About the Role
As an Identity Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, build, and uplift of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions across our customer projects. You will work hands-on with technologies such as Entra ID, SailPoint, Okta, and Silverfort, collaborating closely with senior consultants, architects, business analysts and client delivery teams to implement secure, scalable identity solutions.
The role spans technical analysis and discovery, contribution to future state and solution design, hands-on implementation, and validation of outcomes. We are looking for an engineer with strong technical depth across multiple identity disciplines who can take designs and help turn them into reliable, production-ready solutions within project environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy IAM solutions such as Entra ID, SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk and Silverfort in line with agreed architectures and designs.
- Collaborate with identity architects to support and refine solution designs.
- Perform technical analysis to resolve complex issues.
- Support testing and validation of functional, security, and operational requirements.
- Produce and maintain technical and operational documentation.
- Apply security best practices across identity lifecycle and access controls.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of identity engineering standards.
- Identify improvement opportunities in client IAM platforms and operations.
- Recommend enhancements to internal processes, workflows, and tools.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging IAM technologies.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Certifications in the following:
- Okta Certified Workflow - Specialty
- Okta Certified Professional
- Okta Certified Administrator
- Okta Certified Consultant
- Okta Certified Consultant
- SailPoint Identity Security Profession
- Silverfort Unified Professional
- SailPoint Identity Security Expert
- Solid experience working on IAM configurations in the higher education sector.
- Proven hands-on experience with configuration and deployment across multiple IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
- Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles,
including identity lifecycle, authentication, authorisation, and federation.
- Solid understanding of Privileged Access Management (PAM) concepts.
- Experience with application discovery.
- Strong knowledge of IAM protocols and standards (SAML, SCIM, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, FIDO2).
- Proficient in using and integrating with RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience using tools such as Postman.
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, JavaScript for identity automation and customisation.
- Solid understanding of relevant cyber security and IAM frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced project environments.
