Integration Developer - HL7 / Healthcare
Permanent | City Fringe | Hybrid working
About the Role
We're partnering with one of Victoria's leading healthcare organisations to find an Integration Developer to join its Application Delivery team. This is a hands-on integration role working across the development, delivery and ongoing support of integrations connecting critical clinical, corporate and business systems.
You'll work across both new technology initiatives and the existing integration environment, taking integrations through the full lifecycle from development and testing through to deployment, monitoring and production support.
There are several significant technology programs underway, creating plenty of opportunity to work on new integrations alongside the day-to-day management and improvement of existing services.
About You
The biggest thing we're looking for is hands-on HL7 experience. You don't need to come from one specific integration platform. Experience with Rhapsody, Mirth, Azure Integration Services or a similar integration technology is relevant. What matters is your understanding of healthcare integration and your ability to develop, troubleshoot and support integrations through their full lifecycle.
You'll ideally bring
- Strong hands-on experience with HL7 v2 and healthcare integrations
- Experience developing, supporting and troubleshooting interfaces between clinical and/or enterprise applications
- Experience with an integration platform such as Rhapsody, Mirth, Azure Integration Services or similar
- Strong experience developing and working with APIs and data integrations
- Exposure to FHIR would be highly regarded
- Experience monitoring integrations, investigating failed interfaces and undertaking root-cause analysis
- Experience supporting testing, deployments, releases, upgrades and system implementations
- An understanding of integration patterns and secure data exchange between systems
- The ability to work across both new project delivery and production/BAU support
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with developers, testers, application teams, infrastructure, vendors and business stakeholders
You may currently be working as an Integration Developer, Integration Engineer, HL7 Developer, Interface Developer, Integration Analyst or Technical Application Analyst. We're more interested in your hands-on integration capability than your current job title.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for integrations throughout their lifecycle, including:
- Developing and maintaining integrations across clinical, corporate and business applications
- Working with HL7 messages and healthcare data flows
- Developing and supporting APIs and application integrations
- Supporting current systems and integration requirements from development through to production
- Monitoring interfaces and investigating errors, failed messages and service interruptions
- Troubleshooting incidents and undertaking technical and root-cause analysis
- Working closely with testing teams to support integration and acceptance testing
- Supporting releases, deployments, upgrades and migrations
- Working with internal technology teams and external vendors to resolve integration issues
- Contributing to the ongoing stability and improvement of the integration environment
- Participating in occasional after-hours/on-call support where required
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to work in an environment where the integrations you build and support directly underpin the delivery of healthcare services. You'll join a lean, collaborative technology team where you won't be boxed into one narrow area. You'll have exposure to both new project delivery and operational integration work, with the opportunity to work across a broad and complex clinical technology environment.
You'll also have access to:
- Hybrid working, with 3 days onsite in Richmond
- Salary packaging of up to $15,900 pre-tax annually
- One of Australia's largest educational scholarship programs
- The ability to purchase up to four additional weeks of leave
- Reduced-cost health services for you and your family
- Ongoing learning and exposure to a complex healthcare technology environment
If you have strong HL7 experience and enjoy being hands-on across integration development, delivery and support, we'd love to hear from you.
