We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Controller / Business Support Administrator to provide administrative and operational support across the business. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating inventory-related activities, and providing reliable business support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records across all warehouses and stocking locations
- Monitor inventory levels and support effective stock control and inventory management processes
- Coordinate inventory-related activities and ensure stock information is accurate and up to date
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory records
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and annual stocktakes
- Provide inventory analysis and recommendations to management
- Provide administrative and business support across various areas of the organisation
- Maintain accurate records, databases and documentation in accordance with business requirements
- Assist with customs requirements for imports and exports, including researching available trade concessions,
tariff orders and duty arrangements and supporting customs duty drawback processes
- Collaborate with Sales, Service, Engineering, and Project teams to ensure inventory availability for customer orders and projects
- Support project planning by identifying long lead-time items and critical stock requirements
- Assist with demand planning and procurement strategies to improve inventory turnover and service levels
- Provide inventory analysis and recommendations to management
- Provide job/project costing tables in aid of profitability improvement
- Provide company system training and mentoring to inventory coordinators and new employees, including developing training manuals and providing guidance on inventory and stores processes
The successful candidate will have:
- A Certificate in Business Administration (preferred)
- Previous experience in a customs-related role (preferred)
- Robust computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively as part of a team
