IT Support Officer

Level 3 - $99,147.86 per annum, including $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance

Full-time, Permanent Role - Site Based The Role

As an IT Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring Town employees have reliable, responsive, and effective technology support. Acting as the first point of contact for IT-related enquiries, you will provide exceptional customer service while supporting the day-to-day operation of the Town's information technology systems, hardware, software, and communications infrastructure.

Working closely with employees across all directorates and our external managed service provider, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues, assist with user administration and asset deployment, and contribute to the delivery of new technologies and digital services. You will also support system maintenance activities, monitor backup processes, and help maintain IT procedures, standards, and documentation.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong problem-solving skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include

- Provide timely first-level IT support and helpdesk assistance to employees.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and system issues.
- Assist with user account management, device deployment, and IT asset administration.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and digital solutions.
- Monitor system backups and assist in maintaining secure, reliable IT systems.
- Liaise with the Town's managed service provider to support ongoing system performance.




- Maintain accurate IT documentation and records.
- Deliver on-site technical support across Town work locations.
- Contribute to the improvement of IT processes, procedures, and service delivery.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and organisational policies.

Work Related Requirements The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

- Cert III or above in Information technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers license
- Rights to work in Australia
