Centre Director | Early Childhood

Lead a high-quality early learning centre in Melbourne's south-east. Inspire educators, build strong teams, and drive quality outcomes for children.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Centre Director to lead a beautiful, modern, purpose-built Early Learning Centre located in the Melbourne’s south-east, in the Oakleigh area.

This service provides high-quality long day care and funded kindergarten programs for children from nursery through to kindergarten age , with a strong focus on nurturing curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners. The centre features thoughtfully designed indoor learning environments and engaging outdoor play spaces that encourage exploration, discovery, and play-based learning.

The educational philosophy is inspired by child-led learning approaches, where environments and experiences are carefully designed to support creativity, collaboration, and inquiry. The service prides itself on creating a warm, inclusive, and community-focused setting for children, families, and educators.

About the Role As Centre Director, you will play a key role in establishing the centre’s culture, team, and operational success.

You will:

- Recruit, mentor and develop a strong team of educators
- Build positive relationships with families and the local community
- Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and regulatory requirements
- Drive high-quality educational programs aligned with the EYLF
- Oversee centre operations including enrolments, staffing, and occupancy growth
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture





About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Early Childhood Teaching qualification (Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent) or Diploma with significant leadership experience
- Previous experience as a Centre Director
- Strong understanding of the NQF, NQS, and EYLF
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Experience preparing for and managing Assessment & Rating
- A genuine passion for delivering high-quality outcomes for children and families
