We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Tax Manager.
About the role .
The Tax Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of high-quality tax compliance services, ensuring client obligations are met accurately, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
The role provides technical compliance expertise, manages complex tax matters and supports the development of team capability to drive exceptional client outcomes.
Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, the Tax Manager ensures compliance processes are continually improved, risks are effectively managed and opportunities for value‑added tax advisory services are identified.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or law
- CA or CPA qualification or higher education in tax (CTA or Masters of Tax) (preferred)
- Registered Tax Agent (preferred)
- Minimum 6 – 8 years’ Australian public practice tax compliance experience
- Strong technical expertise across Australian taxation legislation
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Corporate income tax compliance.
- Interaction between Income Tax and R&D;
- Tax effect accounting and deferred tax concepts
- FBT compliance and advisory
- PAYG instalments and tax payments
- ATO reporting and review processes
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing:
- Company tax returns
- Trust tax returns
- FBT returns
- Tax calculations and workpapers
- ATO correspondence and responses
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships independently
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams
- Experience or demonstrated ability to lead and mentor developing team members
- Proficiency in accounting and tax software and Microsoft Office applications
