Cairns Regional Council is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Labourer / Truck Drivers to join our Maintenance North team within the Works Branch. What You’ll Do:

As a Labourer / Truck Driver, you'll play a hands-on role in the maintenance and construction of Council assets across the Northern District. No two days are the same as you:

- Perform a variety of civil maintenance and construction labouring tasks
- Drive and operate trucks and work vehicles
- Assist with concrete repairs, formwork, and finishing activities
- Operate small plant and equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct daily vehicle and trailer safety inspections
- Work collaboratively with your crew to deliver quality outcomes
- Interact professionally with residents, contractors, and other Council teams
- Contribute to a safe, productive, and environmentally responsible workplace

What We’re Looking For:

- Current Queensland Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence
- Construction Industry White Card
- Year 10 education or equivalent with basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience driving trucks and undertaking civil, road,



or maintenance works
- Experience with concrete repairs, formwork, and concrete finishing
- Strong awareness of workplace health, safety, and environmental practices
- Ability to use or learn digital devices such as tablets and smartphones
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
