Role Description The Lead Microservices and AI Technical Architect will design and oversee end-to-end microservices and AI/ML solutions for enterprise clients, ensuring they align with business objectives and technical best practices. This contract role is on-site in Australian Capital Territory, Australia, and involves collaborating closely with stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to define architecture, integration patterns, and security standards. Daily responsibilities include creating architectural blueprints, guiding API and microservices design, evaluating AI frameworks and tools, and leading technical reviews and PoCs.

The architect will mentor engineering teams, set coding and deployment standards, support cloud-native implementation and optimization, and work with project managers to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within scope.



The role also requires continuous assessment of new technologies and patterns to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability of client solutions.

Qualifications

- Strong background in microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems, with experience in cloud-native application development.
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering AI/ML solutions, including model integration, data pipelines, and AI-enabled services.
- Demonstrated expertise with major cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data platforms or tools (e.g., Snowflake).
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (such as Java, C#, Python, or Node.js) and familiarity with containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of security, performance, and reliability best practices for enterprise-scale architectures.
- Experience leading technical teams, providing architectural guidance, and conducting code and design reviews.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into explicit, actionable guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
- Prior experience in consulting or client-facing architectural roles, particularly within complex, multi-cloud or hybrid environments, is highly beneficial.
