About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Microservices & AI Technical Architect to provide technical leadership across the design, development and evolution of modern cloud-native, microservices-based and AI-enabled platforms.

The successful candidate will influence key engineering and architecture decisions, drive technology modernisation, establish contemporary AI and software engineering practices, and build technical capability across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership and architectural authority for cloud-native, microservices and event-driven architectures .
- Design and govern secure, scalable, resilient and business-critical technology platforms.
- Lead the adoption of AI-enabled software development and delivery practices across the SDLC.
- Establish and improve DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability and platform engineering standards.
- Drive technology modernisation, including microservices transformation, containerisation and enterprise integration .
- Develop reusable architecture and engineering patterns to improve scalability, maintainability and operational resilience.
- Provide technical direction across complex transformation initiatives and influence enterprise architecture decisions.
- Promote security by design, operational excellence and engineering maturity .
- Lead multidisciplinary technical teams, delivery partners and geographically distributed teams.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer, mentoring and capability uplift across engineering teams.
- Engage with senior stakeholders and translate complex business requirements into practical technology outcomes.

Essential Skills & Experience




- Extensive experience designing, implementing and governing cloud-native, microservices and event-driven architectures in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in AI engineering and AI-enabled solutions , including enterprise AI capabilities, semantic search, machine learning and responsible AI practices.
- Strong software and platform engineering capability across modern development frameworks, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing and observability .
- Proven experience leading technology modernisation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence architecture and engineering decisions and deliver improvements in reliability, security, scalability and engineering maturity .
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and technical leadership skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and working with senior executives, delivery partners and business stakeholders.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS or GKE .
- Experience in platform automation, governance and workload management.
- Strong understanding of cloud modernisation, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), platform engineering and observability .
- Experience implementing enterprise-scale automation practices.
- Agile delivery experience, including coaching geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical capability uplift, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement .
